Not much going on in the shop. I striped, repaired, sanded, stained and put a coat of polyurethane on a small oak bench about 18" long and 12" wide.

I told the shop lady that I was not interested in doing the Pencil Post bed. To many things can go wrong. I need to do one first before I quote $1,000.00 or so and then not have it work out. The alternative now is to use a steel bed frame and just do a head and foot board for it. So I need to go to the furniture store tomorrow and check out the metal bed frames and see how to attach them.

I gave a quote on the large two piece cupboard but have not heard back on that yet. One of the employees from the shop would like a second painted and distressed bench like one of mine she has in the shop. She will need to send me a description and size. I have done quite a few benches of different finishes.

Got another truck load of cow manure from Squim. That pretty well fills up my compost pile. I stopped by the neighbor ladies this morning and she said she would dig up the blue berry plants that I want to get rid of. It did not happen. The soil is just to bad to grow them there. After about 10 years and they have not done much it is time to try something else. So I will dig down about 16" and layer in cow manure, and some dirt in about 4 layers, dig it in and then put in some rhubarb next spring. So I have about 1/3rd of a truck load of cow manure in the back of the truck. I hate to drive that around town. It does not smell that good.

Got the white table, the knob on the drawer, 6 chairs and bench done and they have been picked up. Got the dinning room chair leg re-glued and fixed and the finish on that. He has picked it up.I got the desk job all repaired and refinished and delivered it this morning.

I need to get my mind into doing the Pencil Post bed. I have the hardware for it now and should get moving on that job. I also need to quote a price on a large 2 piece cupboard. The lady that I did the white dining room set for wants a couple more smaller pieces done. I need to get the information to her on that. The shop owner who handles the jobs is doing a 5 day Country Show starting yesterday so she will be busy for a couple more days.

Misc. I got most of my winter garden in. Flower bulbs, spinach, kale, lettuce, etc. I mixed two truck loads of cow manure and 7 wheel barrows of rich compost which had tons of red worms into 18" deep by 6 ft. x 16 ft garden and now going to see if all this does any good. The red worms have already grown 6". I am tired of planting things and never have them do very well.

Finally got the wood knobs and bed hardware putting the heavy hardware in a paper envelope and mailing it was really dumb. I printed up a bunch of information on making bed and will take the printouts down to coffee this morning to go over it with the instructors from the boat building school. They are the experts on making things out of wood.

Got the wood knobs for the kitchen table and got it stained. This morning I can seal it and get a coat of paint on it. Then I should be able to get it glued into the front of the drawer. Hope I can get it done before she comes to pick up the furniture. If she does not get it this week she will not be able to pick it up until the first part of Nov.

Got the wood knobs and bed hardware in at the post office. The package was opened and all was gone except for the bill. So I called them (WSI Distributors) and they are resending out the items by UPS rather than by mail. What a bummer, she called the other day and wanted to know how things where going.

Oh well, I got two loads of cow shit worked into the garden anyway. It was good to get that done before the rain starts again or the mountain blows up.
